Swindon’s much-loved Old Town Beer & Cider Festival returned for its twelfth year and was a runaway success.
The organisers have revealed that over 1,400 attendees enjoyed four days of laughter, live music, great food, and, of course, excellent beer and cider – all in support of local good causes.
Taking place at Christ Church in Old Town, the 2025 festival smashed records with 950 people attending on Saturday alone, up by at least 200 from the previous year.

Festival-goers enjoyed a packed programme of events, including a high-energy comedy night, a fantastic live music evening, and a finale concert featuring the brilliant Wessex Male Choir, which brought the weekend to a spectacular close.
More than 3,600 pints of beer and 1,400 pints of cider were served – with less than half a cask of beer and just 3 pints of cider remaining by the end of the festival. Even the non-alcoholic options completely sold out. Thanks to some quick thinking and extra deliveries on Saturday, organisers were able to keep glasses full and spirits high.
“We’re absolutely delighted,” said a spokesperson. “Not only was this our biggest year yet, but the feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive. People loved the variety of drinks, the fun and welcoming atmosphere, and especially the amazing volunteers who made the whole thing run so smoothly.”
The organisers also extended a heartfelt thank you to the generous festival sponsors, in particular The Hop Inn, Broadtown Brewery, Gel Studios, Magnum Wineshop and Fandangos for their incredible support as our main sponsors.

The spokesperson added: "We’re equally grateful to all our other amazing sponsors whose contributions helped make this record-breaking event possible.
"The event also wouldn’t have been possible without the dedicated team of volunteers, to whom the organisers extend their sincere thanks.
"All proceeds from the festival will support Christ Church and our two chosen festival charities — The Kelly Foundation and Prospect Hospice — helping to fund vital work in our local community."
Plans are already underway for next year’s event. The 13th Old Town Beer & Cider Festival will take place from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 May 2026. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another round of great drinks, community spirit and entertainment.
Other upcoming local beer festivals are:
- Wanborough Beer Festival, New Calley Arms, 6-7 June, noon-11pm
