This April, the local group Black and White Cat Club will be holding its annual Championship Show day in Cricklade.

The event will be held on Saturday 15 April, at the Town Hall on the High Street in Cricklade (SN6 6AE).

The Black and White Cat Club Championship Show caters for Persian cats, Exotic Shorthairs, British Shorthairs, Selkirk Rex, and British Longhairs.

Organisers say the show also has a Household Pet section.

This year's Championship Show will be open to the public from 12.30pm - 4pm, with entry costing £4 for adults, and £2 for children and senior citizens.

There will be plenty of cats and kittens for attendees to see, and the 'Best In Show' announcements will take place at around 3pm.

As well as the cat show itself, there will be stalls for people to browse, and refreshment tables serving tea, coffee and cakes.

Those attending the show will also be able to vote for the People's Choice award.

A spokesperson for the event explains: "The People's Choice vote will allow attendees to vote for the cat they like the most, put the pen number on their slip, and pop it in the voting box."

The vote for People's Choice will close at 3pm. The person with the winning cat or kitten will receive a hamper for their pet, full of goodies.

Those interested in more information can get in touch with the show's organisers, Stuart and Barbara McEwen, via 01362 562135, or via 07774 204178.
