Anyone keen to make the most of spring, summer and autumn visiting to Wiltshire’s Bowood House and Gardens (between Calne and Chippenham www.bowood.org) should not miss the chance to sign up for the Early Bird offer on a 2019 Season Ticket. The special prices will expire at noon on this coming Thursday 31st January!
Set to re-open in spring 2019 on Saturday 30th March - and in good time for the Easter weekend (19th-22nd April) - Bowood favourites will return once more, with much variety on offer to visitors of all ages on a daily basis right through to Sunday 3rd November 2019.
With a season ticket to visit Bowood House and Gardens whenever and however often one might wish, by the fourth visit a saving will already have been made and from then on each subsequent visit is effectively free of charge.
There are various versions available for the season ticket. Family tickets for two adults and one, two or three children under 12 are priced at £127, £154 and £180 respectively. For any additional children, season tickets are available at £29.50 per child (aged 2-6) or £41 per child (aged 7-12). Season tickets for young adults (aged 13-16) and seniors (60+) are each priced at £42 while £52 is the price for other adults. All these prices apply so long as season tickets are bought before noon on Thursday 31st January 2019.
Season ticket holders have access to the Adventure Playground, the Soft Play Area, Tractor Ted Little Farm and Bowood House with its Sculpture Gallery, Robert Adam Orangery, Library, Chapel and the Laboratory where Dr Joseph Priestley discovered oxygen gas all open to the public. The 200th anniversary of the births of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert will be marked by the special exhibition, ‘Victoria, Albert and the Lansdownes’. Several floors of Exhibition Rooms with further displays of art, antiques and historical artefacts, charting the life and times of the Lansdowne family from 1754 onwards, are also featured.
Bowood House and Gardens visitors will also appreciate how The Stables Restaurant, The Treehouse Café and the House Gift Shop complement their Bowood experience (as well as ample free parking). For season ticket holders, a 10% discount is available on purchases in these outlets, as it is too for any organising a children’s birthday party in The Gardener’s Bothy.
Additionally, season ticket holders will be entitled to complimentary entry to certain, specified Bowood House events (such as Tractor Ted Big Machines Weekend) and also to the Woodland Garden (two miles from the House and in bloom for six weeks from late April). Discounts of 10% are also available on particular spa, golfing and dining offerings at Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort (www.bowood.org/bowood-hotel) – a mile from the House and Gardens and with its own dedicated entrance.
The final benefit is that a Season Ticket can be purchased very simply online at www.bowood.org/gift-vouchers.
Bowood House & Gardens will open daily from 30th March – 3rd November 2019
