David Wilson Redrow South West has revealed major updates at its Canalside development in Swindon.

The launch of a brand-new, two bedroom show apartment this weekend follows a strong start to the year with 18 homes already sold in 2026.

The uptick, the firm says, comes as interest rates stabilise and mortgage costs ease, giving buyers renewed confidence to move onto or up the property ladder.

With the launch of the professionally designed two bedroom ‘Okus’ show apartment, interest in Canalside is expected to increase further.

Ahead of the grand unveiling at 10am on Saturday 14 March, potential buyers can preview newly released fly-through footage showing what life could be like inside a typical apartment at the development.

Louise Ware, sales director for David Wilson Redrow South West, said: “The new show apartment has been professionally designed to help visitors picture everyday living at Canalside.

Selling 18 homes here since the start of the year shows how the right mix of location, design and support can make a real difference for buyers.

"Now, combined with our new show apartment and incentives, buyers will feel even more confident about making the move.”

For those ready to get onto the property ladder, the Okus apartment at plot 106, priced at £237,500, is available to move into this summer.

The first floor home features floor-to-ceiling windows throughout and comes with an upgraded kitchen and flooring package worth more than £6,500. Key workers may also be eligible for a deposit contribution worth £11,875.

Canalside at Wichelstowe is a new development of one and two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom homes.

It forms part of a major joint venture between Swindon Borough Council and Barratt Homes and David Wilson Redrow South West.

Set alongside the Wilts & Berks Canal, the neighbourhood offers a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes within easy reach of Swindon town centre and local transport links.

Wichelstowe will deliver 3,000 new homes along with new schools and community facilities over 20 years. The 250-hectare site on the southern edge of Swindon will include extensive open spaces, nature conservation areas, playing pitches and allotments.

As part of this neighbourhood, residents can enjoy 12km of new nature trails, play areas, 200 acres of open space and walks along the Wilts and Berks canal. There’s also a range of schools for children of all ages within easy reach.
