Stagecoach West has announced the launch of a new customer rewards scheme designed to help families in Swindon enjoy a Great British staycation in the historic town of Oxford this half term.

With holidays currently on hold, the new Stagecoach Rewards scheme will provide exclusive discounts to customers, helping them to explore the areas on their doorstep for less. With Stagecoach’s S6 service allowing customers to travel from Swindon to Oxford and back for just £7, there are a host of rewards on offer for those looking to experience a family day out in Oxfordshire.

Providing educational entertainment for the whole family, Oxford Castle & Prison will be offering 15 percent off guided tours to Stagecoach customers as part of the scheme. Hosted by costumed guides, the one-hour tours allow families to discover their stories and delve deeper into 1,000 years of fascinating history.

In addition, Stagecoach customers will also be able to enjoy special offers on refreshments during their time in Oxford. With 15 percent off food and drink at Organic Deli Café & Wholefoods and an exclusive buy-one-get-one-free offer on coffee from Colombia Coffee Roasters, families can enjoy a whole day of half term fun for less this October.

For those looking to indulge in a spot of shopping, Stagecoach has also partnered with designer shopping outlet, Bicester Village, which passengers can travel to via the S5 service once they have arrived in Oxford. The luxury shopping centre will be offering customers an extra 30 percent off its private sale.

The exclusive offers are part of national Stagecoach scheme that has been designed to support local attractions, retailers and restaurants, and encourage people to return safely to the activities they enjoyed before the pandemic.

To access the discounts, customers will need to sign up to rewards.stagecoachbus.com where they can access promotional vouchers and codes which will entitle them to a discount when presented with a valid bus ticket.

Commenting on the new scheme, Rupert Cox, Managing Director at Stagecoach West, said: “Our services play a vital role in getting people back together and connecting them to the things they enjoy the most, such as family days out, shopping trips and visiting restaurants and cafés.

“We want to support local attractions across the region to help them recover from the impact of COVID-19. Our new scheme does just this, whilst allowing our passengers the opportunity to experience half term staycations across Oxfordshire in an easy, safe and budget-friendly way.”

Stagecoach West has put a range of measures in place to help local residents feel safe and confident when using its services. All services have been accredited with Visit Britain’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ official mark, recognising the hard work carried out to meet government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, as well as the processes in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. The comprehensive regime includes daily deep cleans and contactless payments, in addition to the government's mandatory use of face coverings.

The Stagecoach app also includes a ‘busy bus’ feature which uses a traffic light system to indicate how busy a bus is, helping customers to plan their journeys and offering extra peace of mind to those who would rather travel on quieter services.
