Swindon Palestine Solidarity are inviting people to watch ‘Where Olive Trees Weep’ on Thursday 27 June 7pm at the Swindon Bangladeshi Centre.

This moving film offers a searing window into the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation.

The film follows Palestinian journalist and therapist Ashira Darshwin, grassroots activist Ahed Tamimi and Israel journalist Amira Hass and witnesses Dr Gabor Mate offer trauma-healing work to a group of women who have been tortured in Israeli prisons.

This film explores themes of loss, trauma, and the quest for justice and is suitable for people aged 12 and up.

Tickets are £6 and include two slices of pizza and popcorn.

Please email Swindon Palestine Solidarity - [email protected] to reserve a ticket or visit the Facebook page Swindon Palestine Solidarity to watch a trailer and book a ticket online.

A spokesperson said: “This is a profoundly moving and life changing film. There will be an opportunity for discussion about occupation and colonisation after the film and a talk from guest speaker Lujane Hamzeh.

“We urge people to join us. This film gives background to the current crisis in Israel/Palestine and brings to light the lives of people interviewed in 2022: their universally human stories of intergenerational pain, trauma and resilience.”

Swindon Bangladeshi Centre is located at 66 County Road, Swindon, SN1 2EW.
