Swindon Link's Karen Randall reports on a visit to Wroughton garden centre and visitor attraction Studley Grange
It was a weekend of gardening and we needed trees!
My sister, her son and I decided to head to Studley Grange to see what they had to offer; it was a first time visit for me and I was extremely impressed.
We started with a wander in the main store, and there is already a lot there to get round. Then we stumbled upon stores within the store - hairdresser, nail bar, clothes stalls, a café, even a softplay. I had no idea there was so much in there.
We also stumbled upon the farm entrance; tickets are really reasonably priced, an adult ticket is £9.45 and one for a child (2-4 years) is £5.95. You’re also given some food to feed the animals at no extra cost.
This was definitely my nephew's favourite part, walking round attempting to copy the calls of a friendly exotic bird roaming loose around the farm, and plucking up enough courage to feed the goats and donkeys.
Then to the Garden Centre, the actual reason we went there – there’s a big selection, my mind was blown. I’m not exactly a keen gardener, but staff member Luke was a lifesaver. A fountain of knowledge.
We asked him so many questions, and eventually based off his recommendations we opted for three trees - two conifers and a Red Robin - which have all successfully been put in our garden.
All the staff at Studley Grange were a pleasure to meet; so helpful and so friendly. I’d highly recommend a visit if you haven’t already been.
