Take a trip through the deep, dark forest with the Wyvern Theatre this month as they welcome family favourite, The Gruffalo to their stage.
This magical and musical piece of children’s theatre is based on the incredibly popular book, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. The best-selling book will jump to life on the Swindon stage, much to the delight of young families, as Mouse hunts for hazelnuts and bumps into characters such as the very cunning Fox and the eccentric Owl. As Mouse meets all of these wonderfully different characters within the forest, expect songs and laughter throughout the theatre.
The award-winning book has sold over 13.5 million copies and is very popular with younger children along with their parents and now the stage show, which premiered in 2001, has not only toured in The West End, Europe and North America but also in Australia and Asia. The production proves itself to be a big hit on paper as well as in theatres, worldwide.
With reviewers Official London Theatre calling the production “…an as near perfect kids show as you can get”, younger children are sure to find the show a delight to watch and engage with. So don’t let the elusive Gruffalo scare you off, book your tickets to experience the woodland magic for yourself!
The Gruffalo will be on the Wyvern stage from Saturday 15th June until Sunday 16th June 2019. You can book tickets at swindontheatres.co.uk or by calling ticket office on 01793 524481.
