The first Swindon-wide History Festival begins tomorrow - Saturday 5 September - with a Meet the Authors event at the Central Library.
The festival, running throughout the month, is a celebration of the rich heritage of the town.
Tomorrow's event on the second floor of the central library, beginning at noon, is set to feature a group of authors who have contributed to the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Swindon's history and heritage.
They will be talking about their work and offering tips to other who might wish to write their own works about local history.
Among them is Angela Atkinson, author of several books including Secret Swindon and Swindon in 50 buildings, and local history correspondent with Swindon Link's sister publication The Ink.
Other authors set to appear are Tim Bryan, Graham Carter, John Chandler, Hannah Dosanjh and Dr Rosa Matheson.
