Summer Extravaganza in Haydon Wick

It will run from 2pm to 7pm Trent Road Playing Field and all are welcome to attend.
The free community event promises an afternoon of entertainment, family activities, demonstrations, local traders and refreshments, with attractions designed to appeal to all ages.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a chair or picnic blanket and spend the afternoon enjoying a packed programme of attractions and performances.
Parish council chair Cllr Vinay Manro said: "The WILDWICK Summer Extravaganza is all about bringing our community together. 
"Whether you're coming for the music, the market stalls, family activities, demonstrations or simply to enjoy a summer afternoon with friends and neighbours, there will be something for everyone. 
"We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, local businesses and volunteers for helping make this free event possible. 
"We hope people will come along, enjoy everything on offer and help us raise vital funds for our chosen charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), supporting the invaluable services it provides to people who need them most."
Live entertainment throughout the day will include performances from Swindon Brass, The Good Afternoon Choir, Nicki, Tony M, Tonnau Acoustic Duo and Ron's Country Classics. 
The event will be compered by Shirley Ludford of Swindon 105.5 Community Radio, who will guide visitors through the day's activities and performances.
Families will be able to enjoy a wide variety of attractions, including:
- A 40-stall Market Boulevard featuring local businesses and community organisations
- George Scarrott's Family Funfair (including a rifle range challenge)
- A miniature farm which might include goats, geese, a Shetland pony and donkey
- Children's activities including LEGO, storytelling sessions, face painting and glitter tattoos
- Food vendors and refreshments
- The Travelling Tavern Bar
- Mario's Ice Cream
Adding to this year's Wild West theme, visitors can meet Woody and Jessie, the much-loved Disney favourites, and have their photographs taken with them during the afternoon. 
There will also be the opportunity to see the event's spectacular Sky High Cowboy, towering above the crowds on stilts.
The event will feature a range of interactive demonstrations, including:
- Pink Pistols Line Dancing
- St John Ambulance CPR demonstrations
- SMAF Martial Arts demonstrations
- Cross Street Garage Electric Vehicle Maintenance demonstrations
- A display of the Parish Council's Grounds Maintenance Fleet
Attendees are also encouraged to support the Council's chosen charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), through a charity raffle featuring a range of prizes generously donated by local businesses. 
Prizes include themed hampers, restaurant vouchers, family activities, beauty treatments and more.
