The organisers of the Longevity Games have announced that the next session will feature Gladiators star Joe as a special guest.
The games - their philosophy is 'Your pace not a race' - are the brainchild of Swindon's Tim Howe, who initially organised informal outdoor meet-ups during lockdown where all were welcome.
These have since blossomed into an ongoing series of regular events, all of them who want to start to get fit or test their fitness, with no pressure to compete against anyone other then themselves.
Tim said: "Fans of the hit BBC game show Gladiators are in for a treat this summer, as a familiar face from the arena is set to appear at the next Longevity Games.
"Joe, a standout competitor who powered through The Eliminator and reached the semi-finals, will be joining participants at the Moredon Sporting Hub on Sunday 20 July.
"Joe's story captured hearts on national television, but it's what lies behind his success that truly resonates.
"Unlike many athletes, Joe only began his fitness journey later in life. At one point, even running down the road was a challenge. But through dedication, perseverance and belief in himself, he transformed his health and fitness, eventually earning a place on one of the UK's most demanding physical competitions.
"Joe's journey is a powerful reminder that it's never too late to take control of your health and push beyond your limits.
"he embodies everything we stand for - resilience, growth and the courage to start."
Participation costs £35, which includes a finisher's teeshirt, a branded water bottle, access to high-resolution photographs - and a great day out and a feeling of accomplishment."
