Swindon vintage store to host eco-friendly Swap Shop
By Jessica Durston - 11 January 2022
Kapada Vintage will be holding a Swap Shop event for members of the public to update their wardrobe in a free and eco-friendly way.
Kapada Vintage will be holding the Swap Shop event on Thursday, 27 January at the Darkroom Espresso (11 Faringdon Rd, Swindon SN1 5AR).
Members of the public are invited to arrive at 6pm to be ready to start at 7pm. Staff and those attending will then work as a team to sort the items into a variety of categories to prepare them for the swapping.
Attendees will bring a bag of good condition adults clothes and accessories they no longer want, and take home pieces from other people. Staff at Kapada Vintage ask that people aim to bring no more than 15 items to swap, to help keep the event manageable.
Those attending are also asked to bring a bag to take home their swapped items in. Any leftover items will be donated to a non-profit organisation.
Kapada Vinatage's Ellen said: "A Swap Shop is an eco and free way to clear and update your wardrobe. Tonnes of clothes end up in landfill so by swapping we can help reduce that amount. A small step to helping the environment."
Kapada Vintage is an online and bricks-and-mortar boutique, selling a collection of hand-picked vintage clothing, accessories and independent gifts. They can be found on Devizes Road in Old Town.
