The Patriot's Arms in Chiseldon is offering hard-up families a free lunch pack this half term.
From Monday, 26 October, The Patriot's in Chiseldon will be offering the lunches to support the local community during these difficult times all prepared by Chef Sanjay.
Sunny Patel, of The Patriot Arms, said: "No child should ever go hungry. In these tough times, we want to give back to our community that has supported us so much, especially in this difficult year, by offering a free lunch pack available to collect from the pub for any child. Let's get through these tough times together."
The lunch pack is made up of a sandwich, drink, piece of fruit and a bag of crisps.
If you are in need a packed lunch or know someone who might, please send a message or call Sunny on 07807 037231 or Sanjay on 07587 694373 to let them know what days and how many packed lunches you need.
The pub has also launched a campaign so the kids eat free during half term lunchtime meaning that any child (under 12) can eat off the kids menu for free.
Mr Patel added: "I firmly believe that the Conservative government are doing an excellent job and providing generous support at this difficult time, to all of those people and businesses affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
"Locally, Swindon Borough Council have been awarded almost £228k from DEFRA, to support groups who are helping people who are struggling to afford food and other essentials due to COVID-19. In addition, Swindon Borough Council can use this money to directly purchase food supplies for vulnerable people, including children who are in receipt Free School Meals and have been affected by the Pandemic.
"As a local business owner, my intention has always been to work alongside our government, here in my local community.
"During Lockdown, we provided hundreds of free meals within the local community. We also participated in the government's Eat Out To Help Out Scheme. As an extension of that support, during Half Term, we are offering free meals and lunch packs for local children.
"In these tough times, we want to give back to our local community who have supported us so much, especially during this difficult year."
