LitFest is returning for 2025 with a full programme that offers more than 45 events over the festival weekend of 25 - 28 September.
The programme includes fiction, non-fiction, poetry, workshops and bookish events including the Translation Duel, Poetry in the Pub, The Big Town Read, The Big Book Quiz at The Parade Cinema.
This year’s Children's LitFest has loads of free events for families in addition to the annual free school’s programme - there's something to entertain all ages!
This year's line-up includes 2025 Golding Speaker Alan Hollinghurst, Brian Bilston, Mary Portas, John Suchet, Rupert Everett, Jessie Burton, Clare Chambers, Andrew Miller, Lucy Hughes-Hallet, Valentine Low, Poppy Okotcha, Olia Hercules, William Hanson and Sam Dalrymple.
The 2025 programme has something to tempt everyone, from Jane Austen fans to lovers of biography, history, memoir, music, politics, nature and gardening. Topics range from Beethoven to Russian spies and Ukraine, from psychiatry to shopping and how to navigate modern day etiquette and our digital world.

General tickets go on sale on Friday 11 July, with priority booking for Friends from Monday 30 June.
A spokesperson for the event, said: “There are just a couple of days left to sign up as a Friend of LitFest for 2025 before this year's deadline of Friday 27 June for priority booking. Your support means that we can plan for the future and expand our children’s programme to pass on a love of reading to the next generation.
