From amazing eye-openers to new eyes opening, staff say there's so much to see at Longleat as the gates reopen on Saturday 4 February - including baby koalas.

The team at Longleat say the animals are waking up across the Safari Park - whether it's koalas, meerkats, macaws, tamarins or tigers, astonishing wildlife will soon await attendees at every turn.

A spokesperson for the Safari Park said: "There's so much more to explore at Longleat too, with a huge range of animal and adventure attractions for the whole family, including Longleat Railway, Boat Safari and ever-popular Hedge Maze. Plus, discover a world of extraordinary history at Longleat House with a specially curated guided tour.

"We also have some exciting news to share...there's a brand-new baby in Koala Creek! The little joey has been peeking out of mum Maizie's pouch and even started climbing onto her back."

The Longleat team says its amazing collection of koalas is growing at speed as the newest arrival joins little Hazel - who was the first Southern koala joey to be born in Europe last year.

Members of the public can book now for February half term, which is said to be a week where individuals might get to see the new koala arrival.

The Safari Park's spokesperson added: "School may be out but you'll still get all the koalifications you need with a Longleat Day Ticket."
