Museum & Art Swindon is marking its second anniversary.
The attraction opened its doors at the Civic Offices on Euclid Street in July of 2024 after moving from its former home at Apsley House in Old Town.
It is home not only to artefacts ranging from fossils to items related to Swindon's status as an industrial powerhouse, but also to art including what is widely acclaimed as the greatest collection of 20th century pieces outside London.
Cllr Matthew Vallender, Cabinet Member for Culture, Planning and Regeneration, visited the museum to view the latest exhibitions on the second anniversary of its opening.
A spokesperson said: "Since its first day, the museum and art gallery has hosted a number of exhibitions, from famous artworks by Swindon artists to a closer look at the Borough’s prehistoric past.
"New pieces of ceramics have been acquired and displayed and young people have got involved in creating exhibitions that represent them.
"Last year, MAS also welcomed the Swindon Gharial back on display in the main reception area and it’s been wowing (and scaring!) little ones ever since.
Whether it’s your first visit or your 50th there’s still plenty to enjoy and explore at the venue. If you’re looking to visit, MAS is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30am to 4.30pm.
