Spook-tacular event to be held across Metro Bank stores on Saturday 24 October and Sunday 25 October. Kids will be able to make their crafts in store where it’s safe to do so, or at home

This weekend on Saturday 24 October and Sunday 25 October, Metro Bank, the UK’s community bank, will be hosting its annual Halloween event, inviting children and their families to take part in a craft activity which can be completed in store where it’s safe to do so, or at home.

Between 12pm – 4pm on both days every child who visits a Metro Bank store will be given a free goody bag full of spooky surprises1 and may even get the chance to meet the bank’s fun-loving mascot, Metro Man, dressed ready to celebrate in his bat wings. The family craft event will be taking place in the majority of Metro Bank stores (participating store list below).

Metro Bank is known for its family-friendly approach to banking and this year celebrated its 10th birthday since opening its first store – as the first high street bank to open in more than 100 years. In the past decade the bank has helped kids make over 600,000 crafts – from Easter bunny ears to festive stockings – at the bank’s regular family events.

Metro Bank also champions financial education and wellbeing, delivering its free financial education programme for schools and youth groups in Key Stage 2 and 3. The bank is proud to have educated more than 203,000 kids through Money Zone since launching the programme.

Ian Walters, Managing Director, Distribution at Metro Bank says: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming families into our stores for our annual Halloween kids craft event. Social distancing remains in place, and we’ll be taking health and safety precautions. Families can enjoy our free crafts in store where it is safe to do so, or to take them away and have fun at home. We’re looking forward to creating some autumn fun for our younger customers, and we wish all of our communities a Happy Halloween.”

Metro Bank serves more than two million customer accounts with 77 stores across the country. Stores are open seven days a week2, early until late, and are renowned for their family and pet-friendly approach.

All Metro Bank stores are operating alongside social distancing guidelines, with a number of health and safety measures in place to keep customers and colleagues safe.
