A writing group composed of mothers living in or with strong connections to Swindon has launched its latest publication.
Mum’s The Word – An Anthology of Writing and Illustrations is the work of the Mum's the Word group, which meets at Lower Shaw Farm in West Swindon.
They celebrated their achievement with a launch party at Lower Shaw Farm where over 50 guests gathered to mark the occasion.
Founded as a supportive and creative community for mothers in Swindon, Mum’s The Word provides an encouraging environment where women can nurture their literary talents while taking time away from the responsibilities of motherhood.
During the launch party, members Helen Allen and Emma Lord spoke about their personal experiences as writers and mums, and the positive effect the group has had on their creative and personal journeys.
Contributors Penni Seviour and Ann Corrigan entertained the audience with readings from the anthology.
The anthology is a diverse collection of short fiction, poems, comic strips and photography, and has a mini writing challenge for the reader, showcasing the talents of local women.
Mum’s The Word are grateful to Matt Holland, Artswords Literary Development Worker, for his encouragement and support, and to Artswords, whose funding and support made possible the production and publication of their book.
Mum’s The Word – An Anthology of Writing and Illustrations is now available to buy for £2.50 from [email protected]
