The boxer known as The Dark Destroyer plans to take the MECA Swindon stage and tell the story of his life and career.

Nigel Benn has announced an appearance at the Swindon venue on Saturday 9 November.

A MECA spokesperson said: "From serving in the Army, to winning the WBO and WBC World Championships, Nigel's story is one of inspiration, determination and an unwavering dedication to his craft.

"Involved in 16 electric World Title fights, winning 11, drawing one and stopping eight of those opponents inside the distance, Nigel fully embodied the reason boxing fans love the sport so much. All-out action, world class skill, and tenacious spirit.

"Nigel will take us through what life is like as the champion of the world, giving guests an insight into what it feels like to sit at the top of the tree in one of the world's toughest sports.

"Guests also have the pleasure of hearing what Nigel's thoughts are on the current landscape of boxing, and have the opportunity to ask him anything you like in a live Q&A."

Fans are invited to submit questions to [email protected]

Guests will have the opportunity to meet Nigel and have a professionally-taken photograph, printed immediately, before the live on stage interview and Q&A.

The evening will kick off at 7.00pm. Guests will be welcomed to spend time listening to Nigel's inspiring stories in and out of the boxing ring. Doors open at 6.30pm.
