Nova Hreod students have launched a Dog Fun Run to support the Christ Church Community Centre in Swindon.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Community Centre at Christ Church, a unique competition was held, inviting young entrepreneurs from local schools to devise innovative fundraising ideas.
The winning concept, proposed by Year 10 students Marley, Phoebe, and Ryan from Nova Hreod Academy, has been brought to life with the support of the community and local businesses.
The competition aimed to engage students in practical business experiences while contributing to a worthy cause. Marley, Phoebe, and Ryan impressed judges with their proposal for a dog fun day, which will feature fun races and activities for the whole family.
Their initiative won them a £50 Amazon voucher sponsored by Excalibur Communications and the opportunity to see their idea realized with the guidance of Christ Church’s Chris Smith and the marketing expertise of Gel Studios.
Chris Smith, Christ Church Site Operations Manager said: “I am delighted that Phoebe, Ryan, and Marley entered our competition to come up with an entrepreneurial idea.
“I am looking forward to working with them to help make their dog walk/race a reality and raise vital funds for our charity."
