A busy weekend of visitors and reservations at Orchards Rise in Wichelstowe has pushed the development past the 90% sold milestone.
House hunters searching for a new home in Swindon turned out in their droves last weekend where reservations at Barratt David Wilson Homes South West’s development topped close on £1m. Incentives worth more than £31,000 were available to support buyers as they move onto or up the property ladder.
Properties on the current phase at Orchards Rise are expected to sell out by summer. Homes will be available on a future phase at the development, but not until later this year.
Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: “We were overwhelmed by the amazing turnout at our event at Orchards Rise last weekend, which is a testament to the development’s popularity. Anyone looking to move into an energy efficient home in a vibrant, well-established community with fantastic amenities on the doorstep should act fast as homes on this phase won’t be available for long.”
The Wichelstowe development is being built by Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes in partnership with Swindon Borough Council which will deliver 3,000 new homes along with new schools and community facilities. The 250-hectare site on the southern edge of Swindon will include extensive open spaces, nature conservation areas, playing pitches and allotments.
As part of this neighbourhood residents can enjoy 12km of new nature trails, play areas, 200 acres of open space and walks along the Wilts and Berks canal. There’s also a range of schools for children of all ages within easy reach. Junction 16 of the M4 and Swindon train station are both within a ten-minute drive, providing easy access to Bristol and London.
Barratt David Wilson Homes South West will launch a new phase at Canalside later this spring and potential buyers can register to receive updates via the website.
The success of Orchards Rise follows Barratt Homes Bristol’s recent announcement that the current phase of Orchards View has sold out and they’ve recently launched a new phase at Wichel Fields.
