Pubs across the borough are preparing for a muted Christmas week but are asking people to still support them.
Pubs like the Patriot's Arms in Chiseldon, Old Town pubs like The Hop Inn and The Tuppenny, Hall and Woodhouse in Wichelstowe and The Tawny Owl in North Swindon have taken every precaution to make sure they adhere to all of the Government guidance and are as covid-safe as possible.
The Patriot's Arms in Chiseldon is appealing to the local community to come out in support of the local pub during this difficult festive period.
Anyone visiting the pub will receive a free gift to keep their festive spirits up during the holidays.
Co-owner Sunny Patel said: "It's such an important time of year for the pub trade and we believe it is important to keep going to keep a smile on the face of the local community. It has been difficult but we have done everything possible to ensure that we are covid compliant.
"At The Patriot's Arms we have made an extra effort to keep the local community together and to keep the Christmas spirit alive.
"Local hospitality like local pubs and, restaurants are at the heart of communities across Swindon but they need the communities help to make sure they survive in these difficult times.
"At The Patriot's we have done all we can decorating both inside and outside to make sure we become a festive destination as that is so important for the community. All we ask is that people book a table in advance, drink responsibility, keep a safe distance from others and follow the relevant guidelines to make sure they are as safe from coronavirus as possible."
