South Swindon Parish Council has announced its significant contribution to the highly anticipated Old Town Festival 2025.
Cllr Linda Kasmaty, chair Leisure, Environment & Amenities Committee, said: “The Town Gardens provide the perfect backdrop for these diverse events, and we're proud to showcase how our green spaces can bring people together for entertainment, education, and wellbeing.
"We're delighted to be working closely with the Old Town Business Association to deliver the Old Town Arts Festival for residents.”
The festival returns from Sunday to Sunday, 1-8 June.
The festival opens with a Family Fun Day in the Park on Sunday 1 June from noon to 5pm, featuring art and nature workshops, music performances, a local makers market and a variety of food and drink stalls.
The day concludes with Comedy at the Bowl in the Town Gardens Bowl, promising laughter and entertainment in the Town Gardens' natural amphitheatre setting.
There will also be a brass band concert with Swindon Brass at 3pm in Queen's Park, bringing traditional musical entertainment to the community.
The Town Gardens will host two heritage tours on 6 and 8 June, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to discover the rich history of this treasured local landmark. These guided tours will highlight the gardens' historical significance and uncover little known facts.
Families with young children can look forward to Music For Miniatures: Under the Sea on the festival's closing day, Sunday, 8 June – a specially designed musical experience that will captivate the youngest festival visitors.
On the same day the Town Gardens will host Park Yoga, promoting health and wellbeing in a beautiful outdoor setting. Then at 3pm music lovers can enjoy a brass band performance featuring the Cirencester Band, performing on the Town Gardens Bandstand.
Various fringe events will take place throughout the week, before the festival concludes with a street party on Sunday 8 June on Wood Street.
The Old Town Festival 2025 represents a collaborative effort between South Swindon Parish Council, the Old Town Business Association and local businesses to celebrate the area's heritage while fostering community connections and supporting local culture.
