Anyone purchasing popcorn on National Popcorn Day will receive a complimentary free popcorn topping of M&M chocolates to accompany it as a perfect partner for big screen releases such as Wonka or the new musical adaptation of Mean Girls

It was recently revealed that over 20.5 million kilograms of popcorn (the weight of 5,000 elephants) was sold to customers last year as they looked for the perfect snack to enjoy while watching huge blockbuster hits such as Barbie and Oppenheimer.

National Popcorn Day is an annual celebration of the traditional cinema snack.

Toby Bradon, General Manager of Vue UK & Ireland, said: “This National Popcorn Day, we wanted to extend a sweet gesture to anyone who visits our sites to enjoy the latest in big screen entertainment - as well as a bite of popcorn to eat - with some tasty bonuses.

“Film fans and families across the UK have shown just how much they love popcorn while visiting Vue, so we’re happy to share this passion for the sweet or salty snack with fans of all things popcorn this week.”
