Pride is set to bring colour to GWR Park again this year with the return of Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, on 9 August.
The familiar sight of the marketplace stalls will be a prominent feature, and the charity has announced applications are now open for those looking to be part of this year’s celebrations.
Applications are welcomed from cold food and snack vendors to retail, crafts and activities, as well as national and local business, public services, charities and other organisations. The charity are looking for a diverse and engaging range of stalls for the LGBTQIA+ and family friendly event.
James Fraser, Marketplace Manager, said: “Our Pride Marketplace is a bustling hub at our free Pride Event where a range of local organisations can promote their products/services and work within the LGBTQIA+ community. Feedback from last year showed how much this aspect of Pride is enjoyed and we’re excited to build on this for 2025.”
10,000 people visited the park throughout Swindon & Wiltshire Pride in 2024 and organisers will be hoping this year is no different.
Paul Stewart, Chairperson, said: “As a charity we’re at a really exciting stage of the year now as our plans for August start to take shape. We’re planning an even more vibrant and accessible event, with truly unforgettable memories as we celebrate how diverse Swindon and Wiltshire really is.
“Due to our expansion as a committee we are currently looking for people to fill roles such as Event Coordinator, Communications Manager, Social Media Content Creator and Deputy Community Engagement Manager.
