Former New College Digital Music Production student, Leonard Rwodzi (S1mba), is currently celebrating as he is number 3 in the UK charts.

S1mba’s latest single ‘Rover’ caught the attention of the music industry after going viral on TikTok. Shortly after this he signed to Parlophone (Warner Music) in March this year. S1mba’s success hasn’t happened over night, but isn’t expected to be short-lived.

Digital Music Production Lecturer at New College, Stuart Rowe said: “It’s no massive surprise to us that S1mba has made such a success of his music as he’s always shown great dedication, determination and passion for developing as a musician.  He’s in the rare position of having a strong understanding of music theory, is a great multi-instrumentalist and vocalist and has a great ear for production.”

Will Brown, S1mba’s other Digital Music Production Lecturer at New College added: “This time last year Leonard was simultaneously handing in his Level 3 coursework, whilst touring the UK and promoting his music.  It’s such a joy to see his hard work and talent pay off and watch his success sky rocket the way it has been.”

The multi-talented musician has his heart set on the number 1 spot. Support S1mba by purchasing his latest single ‘Rover’ through iTunes and help him reach that coveted number 1 spot. Be sure to also keep an eye out for S1mba’s debut EP, which will be packed with Summer anthems - his ambitions are set on a long-standing career!
