The charity crafting group, Swindon Big Knit that meet at the Orbital have been running now for 5 years.
A spokesperson said: "In that time, we have knitted and crocheted homeless blankets, beanie hats, baby clothes and baby blankets helping lots of people who need to keep warm in Swindon.
"During that 5 years we have received donations of pre-loved yarn from members of the public, and new yarn from yarn manufacturers, we have received monetary donations and grants as well to help us buy yarn to continue with our vital work. We rely on other people’s generosity to buy the materials to make the items that we make.
"Because it is our Birthday, what we would really love it if people could buy us a ball of yarn. Any colour, any thickness, and type. We can make use of any yarn, and it will all go to helping fellow Swindonians.
"You could buy and send yarn to us, or you could visit our donations page here.
"If you could donate £2, that would buy us a ball of yarn and from that ball we could make 2 hats.
"If you could donate £4 we could make a outfit for a baby to keep warm.
"If you donated £20 we could make a single sized blanket to keep a homeless person or an elderly person living in Swindon warm.
"Even a small donation to us is a great help for us to help others and with winter around the corner, our ladies are knitting and crocheting like the clappers.
"Our charity group and meet up’s also help the people that make the items. Ladies come to the meeting from all over Swindon and it provides friendship and a shared interest which is good for wellbeing.
