Swindon Community Concert Band, which was formed only two years ago, is looking for new members.
Swindon Community Concert Band has been rehearsing and playing gigs in Swindon since September 2021.
Now nearing their 2nd anniversary of playing together the band are actively looking for new players of any wind or brass instruments as well as percussionists, having recently lost a few members due to house moves and job changes.
The band rehearse for two hours on Tuesday evenings between 7:30pm and 9:30pm at Rodbourne Methodist Church Hall, including a break for tea, coffee and biscuits.
Alice Sirelle, of the band, said: "We aim to play a mixture of music such as film scores, jazz, blues, classical and pop and our repertoire is entirely chosen by members. When we return to rehearsals in September 2023 we will be focusing on music from the films Pirates of the Caribbean, Moana and The Greatest Showman as well as a selection of James Bond themes.
"We are a non-auditioned group, with an entry limit of Grade 3/4 or above. The main aim of the band is to get as many people playing music on a regular a basis as possible and to have fun whilst doing so. We want rehearsals and concerts to be fun and relaxed, with a nurturing environment too - those who have more experience will help those who are newer to playing."
Subs are currently £5 a week on a pay as you go basis.
