Swindon Concert Band to hold Christmas show next month

The Swindon Concert Band are inviting members of the public to join them for a Christmas concert in Royal Wootton Bassett this December.

The concert will be held at the Memorial Hall in Royal Wootton Bassett on Saturday 10 December. 

The show will begin at 7.30pm. 

The Swindon Concert Band was established in 1971 and has attracted players from an approximate 30-mile radius. 

The band currently has around 40 members and the group practice on Monday evenings at the Broadgreen Community Centre. The band put on around five concerts a year - which are usually in aid of local charities. 

The group play from a repetoire of over 1000 music pieces, with genres ranging from classical and traditional symphonic wind band music, to jazz and favourites from the stage and screen. 

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, with under 16-year-olds going free.

The Swindon Concert Band also welcome new players. The group ask that individuals wishing to join can play to at least a grade 5 standard with their chosen instrument(s) however. If there is no vacany for their instrument, they will be placed on a waiting list.
