An 11-year-old boy who lives in Swindon is an official voice actor on the new video game Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened.

Soumil has been part of the acting industry since 2018, alongside his big sister Shreya (12).

Both siblings have done a few acting jobs since then, but the Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened game is Soumil's first voiceover role.

Soumil provided the voiceover for the character listed as 'Nepali Boy' for the new video game - which is a remake of the 2006 video game version.

He did the recording last September, and the game was released on 11 April 2023.

Soumil said of this recent opportunity: "It was so cool to work on the Sherlock Holmes game and I felt proud to be a part of it."

Nepali by heritage and British by nationality, Soumil, and his family moved to Swindon in 2019.

One of the young actor's other roles was Joseph Anthony in the Black Narcissus Mini TV Series (2020).

Mum Mamta said: "Having such opportunities for the children has been amazing as it helps them develop confidence in themselves, plus improve their social skills and work ethics.

"The support from their school has been great too.  Besides that, being from a minority group and having a chance to be represented is amazing and a big thing."
