The Wyvern Theatre is the venue for an extravaganza marking eight decades of Tanwood School for Performing Arts.

A celebratory show, LEGENDARY, will be performed on 16 and 17 November.
A Tanwood spokesperson said: "For eight decades, this institution has been a beacon of creativity, nurturing the talents of countless artists who have gone on to inspire and enrich our world.
From its humble beginnings in a garage in Ferndale Road , Swindon in 1944, born out of a dream of Mollie Tanner to create a sanctuary for the arts amidst a changing world, our school has grown into a vibrant community where passion, dedication, and innovation flourish.

"Each generation of students and educators has contributed to a legacy that transcends time, blending tradition with contemporary flair, and pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. Achieving
extraordinary things in all walks of life.
"We invite you to journey with us through the rich tapestry of our history, told through dance and music."
The spokesperson added: "LEGENDARY is more than a performance—it's a tribute to Miss Mollie who founded this institution, her daughter Pollyann and the teachers who have dedicated their lives to fostering
talent, and the students whose creativity knows no bounds.
"Every step, leap, and twirl is a testament to the hard work, talent, and dreams of all who have been part of this incredible journey.
"As we celebrate the past, we also look forward to a future filled with promise and endless possibilities. This show will be a testament to the enduring power of the arts to transform, to heal, and to inspire."
Pollyann said: "Through the process of putting on this wonderful show, these students are joining together and working hard to create this extraordinary event for their community in memory of a Swindon legend ‘Miss Mollie’.
"We think they deserve a standing ovation for all their work.”
