The Club of Swindon North and Thamesdown’s Young Musician of the Year Competition was held at St Michael and all Angels Church.
The audience were treated to an afternoon of musical excellence as 22 young people, entered in the competition by their schools, showed their talents.
A club spokesperson said: "It was a musical feast with performances from eight vocalists, seven pianists, two drummers, a bass guitarist, a violinist and a saxophonist."
The competitors were divided into two groups - Juniors under 14 and Seniors aged 14 to 16.
The adjudicator was Thomas Graff, a distinguished musician with a Fellowship of the Royal School of Music. He is currently the Musical Director of the Wessex Male Voice Choir.
The highlight of the afternoon was the naming of the Swindon Young Musician of 2025 - pianist Lourdes Ma from the Deanery Academy in Swindon. She captivated the audience with her performance of the third movement of Haydn's Sonata in E Flat Major.
Lourdes also took first place in the Senior group; in the Juniors, Elizabeth Pope (piano) from St John’s was placed first. Elizabeth won the Young Musician award in 2024.
Every competitor was presented with a certificate of achievement and, in addition, those awarded placings received music vouchers.
