Three drop-in events will provide opportunities to see how plans are progressing for Swindon’s newest sports hub.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the Wiltshire FA had been named as the preferred operating partner for the Wichelstowe Community Sports Hub, which will be located between Middle and East Wichel.

A Swindon Borough Council spokesperson said: "Wroughton Parish Council is working alongside the Borough Council and the Wiltshire FA to develop the plans which will include football facilities, multi-use games areas, children’s play areas, a pavilion with a café, flexible community rooms and changing rooms."

Anyone who wants to see how the sports hub is welcome to come to the drop-in events:

- Tuesday, 1 July from 4pm to 7pm at the Waitrose café in Wichelstowe

- Wednesday, 2 July from 4pm to 7pm at The Stoweaway, East Wichel

- Tuesday, 8 July from 4pm to 7pm at the Ellendune Centre in Wroughton

The spokesperson added: "A planning application for the sports hub is expected to be submitted later this summer. Subject to planning, it is hoped construction could start in 2026."
