A Swindon man was arrested after a car failed to stop for officers in the town yesterday (Wednesday 9 August 2017) which resulted in a short pursuit. Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident which started with a vehicle pursuit from Whitbourne Avenue, just after 5pm, and ended in Wimpole Close; the driver then ran off but was caught by officers on Denholme Road at 5.10pm.  The route of the foot chase Routes of the vehicle and foot pursuits are attached to help with the witness appeal. A 29-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation. PC Scott Young said: "We would like to speak to anyone who heard or saw the pursuit involving a Ford Focus or anything suspicious in this area around this time."
