Wiltshire police are releasing CCTV images of a man they would like to identify in relation to two robberies in the Stratton area of Swindon.
Just before 3pm on Thursday 17 September, at the Grange Convenience Store, Grange Drive an unknown man entered the shop and threatened the member of staff with a knife. The male worker pushed the panic button and picked up a plastic stool to throw at the perpetrator which caused him to run from the premises.
Just after 3pm on the same day, a man entered Ermin Food and Wine on Ermin Street and threatened the member of staff with a knife. He forced the male worker to open the till and then took an amount of cash and two bottles of Vodka before making off. Luckily, neither worker were hurt in the incidents.
Det Con Catherine Price said: "This was a frightening experience for both members of staff and we are working hard to try and identify and track down the person who carried out these crimes.
"We believe the incidents are linked and we immediately conducted area searches assisted by the dog unit and police helicopter at the time. By releasing CCTV images of a man we'd like to speak to, we're hoping that he or anyone who knows him can contact us to help our officers with our enquiries."
