Wiltshire Police have issued a statement in relation to the murder investigation into the death of Alison Connolly, of Penhill Drive, Swindon.

“Wiltshire Police made a mandatory referral to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) in relation to this incident, because the Force had been in contact with the victim prior to her death.

"The IPCC have now confirmed this will be an independent investigation, therefore any further enquiries in relation to this should be referred to them.”

As Swindon sisters Charice Gassman, 19, and Amberstasia GASSMAN, 23, have been charged with murder of Alison Connolly, pictured, on 12 May in the Park area, proceedings against them are still active.

They appeared, via video link, at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday 19 May 2015 and are remanded in custody until a preliminary hearing at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday 16 June.
