This Saturday (15 April) sees brothers, and professional boxing promoters, Mark and Tony Neilson put on a professional boxing show, supported by amateur bouts for the first time in Swindon.

Advertised as a Pro-Am event, the event will be opened by boxers from Swindon based gym, Horseshoe Amateur Boxing Club. The five-six amateur bouts will include Karum Aujla, this year’s 32kg Schoolboy Champion, Sam Vallis who was a finalist in the years Youth Championships along with other young Swindon fighters.

Head Coach Brian Roberts said “We’re really pleased to be working with the Neilsons on this show, it’s great that the pro’s can support the amateurs and the lads are really looking forward to it”.

The professionals will include some of the pick of the south’s boxing talent and is headlined by Reading’s Tamuka ‘Too Much’ Mucha. Currently ranked No.5 in the UK an undefeated in 16 outings, Tamuka is looking to extend his unbeaten run and chase for a British Title shot later this year.

Chief support is the always entertaining Riiddy Riival.  Fighting out of Gloucester’s Fight Factory Gym, undefeated Riiddy is hoping to make it eight from eight as he faces a really tough Polish opponent in Lukasz Janick.  Riiddy is coming off a big upset win over favourite Freddie Kiwiit last time out which was also an official English Title eliminator.

Other supporting fights include more undefeated fighters with Frome’s Ryan Wheeler, Gloucester’s Kane Stewart, Bristol’s Wayne Ingram and the debut of Ledbury’s Alex ‘Pinky’ Florence.

Mark Neilson added “We thought a Pro-Am show would be great for Swindon. Tony and I go to shows all over the country and Swindon has some of the best fight fans out there.  Swindon is definitely a boxing town and all shows, whether amateur, white collar or professional are always really well supported.

"We thought that a Pro-Am could offer something a bit different whilst also offering the young lads a big stage to perform on, and giving something back to the local clubs.  It gives Swindon a chance to see some of the potential starts of tomorrow."

Tickets are still available from U16’s £10 (T’s & C’s apply), £30, £40 and £60 via neilsonboxing.co.uk or the ticket hotline 01793 833468
