Local people will soon benefit from a state-of-art Health Centre which opens on Monday 12 June on the corner of Fleming Way and Islington Street in the town centre.

The conveniently located Swindon NHS Health Centre will replace the former Swindon Health Centre at Carfax Street and will include a pharmacy, two GP practices (the Whalebridge Practice and Carfax NHS Medical Centre), the walk-in centre, dental and podiatry, among other NHS services.

The new health centre forms part of the Kimmerfields development and will sit alongside the already constructed 850-space multi-storey car park and the assisted living residential building, delivered as part of the first phase of wider regeneration in Swindon.

The Health Centre has been developed by NHS Property Services, supported by NHS England, NHS Swindon CCG and Public Health Swindon and Swindon Borough Council.  Replacing the current Health Centre with a new and improved facility is one of the Council’s thirty pledges.

NHS Property Services has stated that measures have been taken to minimise any disruption or confusion for patients during the transition of the move.  Services will be staggered to move over during the 9, 10 and 11 June 2017.

Further details of the move can be found at www.swindonccg.nhs.uk.
