New research by home security firm ADT puts Swindon's crime rate among the 10 lowest in the UK.

The company analysed the crime rate per 1000 people to determine the areas with the lowest crime rates.
A spokesperson said: "The research also looked at  the quality of the local schools, the general safety of the area and the number of parks to determine which UK area is the most family-friendly."
Dorset was found to be the safest location with 49 crimes per 1000 people in the year ending March 2023, with the rest of the safest five consisting of Harrow on 62, Bexley on 65, Bromley on 69 and Barnet on 73.
Swindon was in sixth place with 74, while the rest of the top 10 consisted of Wandsworth with 75, Havering with 76, Redbridge with 79 and Hillingdon with 80.
The spokesperson added: "The postcode area with the lowest crime rate in the UK is CW12 3, located in Cheshire East. The postcode area contains Congleton, Astbury, Rushton and Newbold wards.
"For the year ending June 2023, the crime rate for this postcode area was just 4.7 per 1,000 people.
"Waltham Forest, one of the London boroughs, takes the top spot for family-friendly areas in the UK. It ranked within the top 15 for both the lowest crime and burglary rates, with a rate of 82 for the former and 3.2 for the latter, both per 1,000 people.
"It also ranked seventh for schools, with 82.8 percent having a 'Good' or higher rating from OFSTED."
