A woman was a victim of an attempted robbery in Swindon yesterday (June 19) and we are appealing for information from the public.
The woman, who is aged in her 20s, was walking along Reading Street in the Railway Village at approximately 6.45pm on Wednesday when she became aware of three men walking towards her.
One of the men, who is described as black, approximately 5 ft 8 inches tall, aged in his mid 20s, wearing a black jacket and carrying a green wine bottle, stood in front of the woman and demanded she hand over her bag.
The woman refused, pushed past the man and carried on walking.
The three men then walked off in the direction of the town centre near the Da Vinci restaurant.
The second man is described as black and the third man was mixed race.
PC Keith Larkworthy said: “Fortunately, the woman wasn’t injured but she was understandably shaken up following this incident and we are keen to identify those involved.
“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who was driving past who may have footage on dash-cams which could be helpful to our investigation.”
