A young environmentally-conscious Swindon person has been given a personal insight into local recycling work.
Nine-year-old Amelia had an exciting day as she visited Swindon’s recycling centre.
A borough council spokesperson said: "After writing her thoughts on Swindon's recycling and sending them into us, Amelia and her mum Katie got a behind-the-scenes tour of the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Cheney Manor industrial estate.
"They learnt about what can be recycled at the kerbside and how important it is for residents to separate out soft plastic recycling, as well as sharing her thoughts on how we can make the recycling offer in Swindon even better for residents.
"Although not collected from outside people’s homes, Amelia learnt that many supermarkets now collect plastic bags, wrapping and films for recycling.
