Bloor Homes is urging first time buyers to take a look at their options for buying a new home in Shrivenham.

The call comes ahead of the predicted rise in stamp duty tax for first time buyers next Spring.

The threshold was raised by the previous Government to allow first time buyers to pay zero stamp duty on purchases of up to £425,000 until March 2025.

With the new Labour Government indicating that they will not be extending the threshold beyond this date, anyone buying a home for the first time from April 2025 will pay stamp duty tax on properties over the lower threshold of £300,000.

With incentives aimed towards first time buyers on selected plots at its development in Shrivenham, the developer is eager to help them take advantage of the stamp duty threshold and make their move before it’s too late.

Bloor Homes has built a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom energy-efficient homes located in Shrivenham.

Purchasers are promised a perfect blend of village living with accessible city amenities nearby, a vibrant local community and a charming English countryside feel, with the modernities of Swindon just 20 minutes away, and Oxford under an hour away.

Kim Benson, Sales Director for Bloor Homes’ South West Region, said: “We are aware of the impending stamp duty increase and the impact this will have on first-time buyers.

"Therefore, we urge any first-time buyers who are interested in moving to Bloor Homes at Shrivenham to check with their IFA on just how much more they could be expected to pay after the threshold is removed and visit us to find out about how we could help you move in time.

“Further to this, the increased energy-efficiency of our homes allows for savings of up to £184 a month on energy bills and eligibility for a green mortgage, increasing the cost-saving benefits of investing in a new-build before the stamp duty increase.

"We welcome any first time buyers who want to get on the property ladder in this great location to visit us and explore how we can help make moving before the stamp duty changes a reality.”

Bloor Homes at Shrivenham is situated off the new A420 roundabout between Swindon and Faringdon, and is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
