Wiltshire police have arrested two people in connection with a burglary at Boots in Royal Wootton Bassett's High Street early this morning - 23 April.

At around 2.50am, two men broke into the store and stole products.

While the investigation into the burglary was ongoing, officers received a report at around 10am of two men, aged 46 and 35, acting suspiciously in the Walcot area of Swindon in a blue Nissan Juke.

A force spokesperson said: "The vehicle had last been spotted at around 3am this morning in the Wroughton area and was believed to be linked to the Boots burglary.

"Officers located the vehicle in Somerville Road, where it then made off from police despite a tactical attempt to stop them.

"The suspects then decamped from the vehicle outside Goddard Park School and were seen to throw a bag of items, which included OLAY hair products believed to be from Boots, over the fence.

"The men were then seen in an alleyway on Dulverton Avenue and tracked by Police Dog Brie to a property in Shaftesbury Avenue, where they were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

"The 46-year-old has been further arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving while disqualified, theft of a motor vehicle and drug driving.

"They remain in custody for questioning."
