Crews from six fire stations were called in after a blaze broke out at Burger King in Queens Drive.
A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue service spokesperson said it received its first report at 6.47pm yesterday - Thursday, 24 June.
Crews from Swindon, Stratton, Westlea, Royal Wootton Bassett, Cricklade and Marlborough were mobilised and found the building well alight.
A service spokesperson said : "Initially four breathing apparatus wearers used two main jets and the aerial ladder platform as a water tower to extinguish the fire."
There were no injuries and the fire was completely out by 11.30pm.
In a social media post issued later, the fire service thanked colleagues from the police, the ambulance service and Swindon Borough Council.
