Three men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary by officers out on routine patrols in Swindon overnight.
Officers out on patrol in Lincoln Street, near Queen’s Park, at around 12.30am this morning (27 November 2018) spotted three men in dark clothing carrying multiple bags.
As they approached the trio, one of them ran off but the other two were stopped and one told police that he was about to ring them as he had found all the items abandoned in the street.
They searched the man and found a screwdriver, and seized a number of games consoles that were inside the bags.
The officers then attended an address in Groundwell Road and found another bag containing more games consoles.
While they were at the property another man made themselves known to officers and he was arrested.
An 18-year-old man from Swindon has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, going equipped for theft, theft and burglary.
Two 19-year-old men, both from Swindon, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
All three remain in custody at Gablecross Police Station.
Further enquiries have led police to a business premises in Theatre Square, Swindon, which had been broken into earlier in the night.
