Hundreds of Swindon and Wroughton homes without water

By Barrie Hudson - 5 August 2022

A burst pipe left homes across Swindon and Wroughton without water this afternoon.

Reports began to come in shortly before 3pm, with low pressure or no pressure at all reported as far away as Stratton, and people in Old Town and Eastcott were also among those reporting outages.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to customers in the Swindon area who have no water or lower pressure than normal this afternoon due to a burst pipe.

"We have a team of engineers on site and we’re doing all we can to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”

At the time of writing the organbisation had yet to issue further information.
