People who want to find out more about volunteering in Swindon are invited to a gathering at Sanford House next week.
The borough council has organised a drop-in volunteer recruitment session at the Sanford Street venue, running from 10am to 2pm.
A group of volunteers will be on hand to welcome visitors and give first hand advice about what volunteering entails.
Visitors will be able to discover:
- The broad range of volunteering opportunities with the council, which cover everything from befriending a lonely person to baking cakes for people who wouldn't otherwise have one to celebrate a birthday.
- What to expect from each individual volunteering opportunity.
- The support and training a volunteer can expect.
- Any requirements needed in order to become involved.
