A man has been jailed for dealing cocaine and heroin in Swindon.
Ronnie Collier, 23, of no fixed abode, appeared in Swindon Crown Court on Friday (09/05) after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
He was jailed for three years and eight months.
On January 25 this year, officers from our Swindon Local Policing Tasking Team were on patrol in the Pinehurst area when they spotted Collier engaging in suspected drug-related activity.
They attempted to speak with Collier, who made off on foot. Collier was then seen throwing a package over a wall into a back garden.
He was then detained and found to have £190 cash on him, as well as a burner phone and an iPhone.
The discarded package was also located and found to contain 51 individuals wraps of crack cocaine and heroin.
Officers then carried out a search of Collier’s last known home address in Beech Avenue, where digital scales and a further 240 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, valued at around £2,900 were found.
A BMW parked outside the property was also searched, within which a small safe was found, contained around £500 in cash.
Collier was subsequently charged and remanded into custody. In sentencing, the judge also took into consideration a further Class A supply offence from January this year, in which 106 wraps of Class A drugs were found, valued at more than £1,000.
PC Morgan Kelly of the Swindon LPTT said: “The scourge of Class A drugs and substance abuse has a significant impact on our communities and we are determined to bring those who supply drugs to justice.
“Collier is one such individual, putting lives at risk by dealing Class A drugs across Swindon. We know it also brings associated criminality such as antisocial behaviour and violent crime.
“We will continue to target dealers like Collier to make our streets safer for all.”
