Officers from the Wiltshire Police Fortitude Team have successfully obtained a closure order for an address in Swindon following ongoing anti social behaviour issues.

The order was obtained for a flat in Diamond Crescent.

The order will remain in place for three months and will prevent anyone other than the resident and his parents from entering the address.

Anyone other than those listed entering the property can be arrested for doing so.

Orders of this nature are said to have been put in place in a bid to prevent ongoing issues connected with the address and officers will conduct regular patrols in the area to ensure the terms of the order are being adhered to.

As part of enquiries in relation to obtaining the order, a man was arrested and later charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin, crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply class A drugs and remanded to prison.

Joshua Oxford, of Heygate, Tadpole Garden Village, Swindon, appeared in Swindon Magistrates Court on 13 January and has been remanded until his next court appearance on 10 February at Swindon Crown Court.

Det Sgt Robert Prout from the Fortitude Team said: “We hope this arrest and news of this closure order will bring some relief to residents nearby and around Swindon who have been reporting problems to us.

"Where information exists we will always take robust action and again ask those with information around drug dealing to contact Wiltshire Police via our website or calling 101.”
