Another covid death reported at GWH and national total passes 55,000

The latest report from NHS England has revealed that a death from coronavirus has been reported at Great Western Hospital in the last 24 hours. It is three days since the last such death was reported. According to the data, the latest death happened on Friday, 20 November. This means the coronavirus death toll at Great Western Hospital since the outbreak began has risen to 148. These figures are correct up to 4pm yesterday.

As of 4.39pm today there have been 55 new confirmed coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours in Swindon, meaning the total has risen to 3,576 confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. In the last seven days there have been 397 new confirmed cases in Swindon. In Wiltshire there have been 91 new cases in the past 24 hours, meaning the number of people who have tested positive in Wiltshire is 4,619. This means that in the last seven days there have been 296 new confirmed cases in Wiltshire. These figures are split by local authority. Please note that these new cases are the figures reported by Public Health England and do not take into account delays in the return of positive test results.

As of 9am on 22 November, 1,512,045 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK. This is a rise of 18,662 positive tests in the last 24 hours.

As of 5pm on 21 November, of those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK who died within 28 days of their test, 55,024 have died across all settings. This is an increase of 398.
